15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy

Here is a list of 15 things which, if you give up on them, will make your life a lot easier and much, much happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering – and instead of letting them all go, instead of allowing ourselves to be stress free and happy – we cling on to them. Not anymore. Starting today we will give up on all those things that no longer serve us, and we will embrace change. Ready?

Here we go:

1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can’t stand the idea of being wrong – wanting to always be right – even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain, for us and for others. It’s just not worth it. Whenever you feel the ‘urgent’ need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question: “Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?” Wayne Dyer. What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big?

2. Give up your need for control.
Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you – situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, coworkers, or just strangers you meet on the street – just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel.

“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.” Lao Tzu

3. Give up on blame. Give up on your need to blame others for what you have or don’t have, for what you feel or don’t feel. Stop giving your powers away and start taking responsibility for your life.

4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk. Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don’t believe everything that your mind is telling you – especially if it’s negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.
“The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive.” Eckhart Tolle

5. Give up your limiting beliefs about what you can or cannot do, about what is possible or impossible. From now on, you are no longer going to allow your limiting beliefs to keep you stuck in the wrong place. Spread your wings and fly!
“A belief is not an idea held by the mind, it is an idea that holds the mind” Elly Roselle

6. Give up complaining. Give up your constant need to complain about those many, many, maaany things – people, situations, events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. Nobody can make you unhappy, no situation can make you sad or miserable unless you allow it to. It’s not the situation that triggers those feelings in you, but how you choose to look at it. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.

7. Give up the luxury of criticism. Give up your need to criticize things, events or people that are different than you. We are all different, yet we are all the same. We all want to be happy, we all want to love and be loved and we all want to be understood. We all want something, and something is wished by us all.

8. Give up your need to impress others. Stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not just to make others like you. It doesn’t work this way. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take of all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

9. Give up your resistance to change. Change is good. Change will help you move from A to B. Change will help you make improvements in your life and also the lives of those around you. Follow your bliss, embrace change – don’t resist it.
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls”
Joseph Campbell

10. Give up labels. Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open. “The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” Wayne Dyer

11. Give up on your fears. Fear is just an illusion, it doesn’t exist – you created it. It’s all in your mind. Correct the inside and the outside will fall into place.
“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”
 Franklin D. Roosevelt

12. Give up your excuses. Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses – excuses that 99.9% of the time are not even real.

13. Give up the past. I know, I know. It’s hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for – the past that you are now dreaming about – was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

14. Give up attachment. This is a concept that, for most of us is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too, (it still is) but it’s not something impossible. You get better and better at with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things, (and that doesn’t mean you give up your love for them – because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another,  attachment comes from a place of fear, while love… well, real love is pure, kind, and self less, where there is love there can’t be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot coexist) you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words.

15. Give up living your life to other people’s expectations. Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them, they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them, to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people’s expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need….and eventually they forget about themselves.  You have one life – this one right now – you must live it, own it, and especially don’t let other people’s opinions distract you from your path.

Life is like Coffee

Life is like Coffee Movie: "Do you know people that just seem to be happier in general? Do you say to yourself, "I want to be more like them"? Often, the happiest people in the world don’t have the best of everything...they just make the best of everything!"

50 Things Men Wish Women Knew

**Listen up ladies: We know you're keeping secrets from us. And even though you think you've got men all figured out, we're hiding a few things ourselves. But we're kind enough to compile this list of 50 universal guy truths that all women should understand. Read on and learn what your man is really thinking.
What He Wishes You Knew #1
Express yourself. It makes us proud, even if someone thinks you're wrong.

What He Wishes You Knew #2

You look hot in running shoes and shorts. And that top thingy with the stripes.

What He Wishes You Knew #3

Bare, tan shoulders are underrated.

What He Wishes You Knew #4

If you think I'm speeding now, you should see me drive when you're not in the car.

What He Wishes You Knew #5

If you're truly interested in us, don't play hard to get.

What He Wishes You Knew #6

Shopping is a chore, not an activity.

What He Wishes You Knew #7

When I screw up, go ahead and tell me—once.

What He Wishes You Knew #8

No question need ever be asked through a closed bathroom door if I'm inside. I love you less with each syllable you utter.

What He Wishes You Knew #9

I'm hot for you, not your sister or your friend or your coworker.

What He Wishes You Knew #10

My guy friends. Not only are they not negotiable, they're your best sign that I'm not a whack job.

What He Wishes You Knew #11

Don't be afraid to ditch the makeup. Natural is sexier.

What He Wishes You Knew #12

Leave the eyebrows alone. Plucked ain't pretty.

What He Wishes You Knew #13

You can have sex with us any time you want. Seriously.

What He Wishes You Knew #14

When the game is on, we will pay attention to you if you're nice about it. Bark, and we shut down.

What He Wishes You Knew #15

I don't ask for directions because I'm just happy to be driving. Anywhere.

What He Wishes You Knew #16

Masturbation is merely practice for the big game. Encourage it.

What He Wishes You Knew #17

We crave hugs and hand-holding too. And no, it doesn't always have to lead to sex.

What He Wishes You Knew #18

But you can have sex with us any time you want. Did we mention that?

What He Wishes You Knew #19

There's no better sound in the world than you, having an orgasm.

What He Wishes You Knew #20

Though the exhaust note of a Porsche Boxster is pretty damn fine, too.

What He Wishes You Knew #21

I just may lie to make you feel good. Don't be angry about this. You really weren't looking for the truth anyway.

What He Wishes You Knew #22

When you get angry over some stupid little pointless thing, I question your intelligence.

What He Wishes You Knew #23

You're really bad at faking it.

What He Wishes You Knew #24

If I offer my help while you're getting ready, it means you're late.

What He Wishes You Knew #25

Never ask me to pick out your outfit. (See above.) I will invariably get it wrong and make us even more late.

What He Wishes You Knew #26

Giving me two or three choices, however, can be fun. Assuming you will change outfits in front of me. Slowly.

What He Wishes You Knew #27

Err on the side of hot; I love to show you off.

What He Wishes You Knew #28

Unless we're meeting my parents.

What He Wishes You Knew #29

When you call us at work "just to chat," we're not really listening; we're checking our e-mail.

What He Wishes You Knew #30

Spring means baseball and skirts. Doesn't need to be a mini-skirt; it's been a long winter.

What He Wishes You Knew #31

Chicks who drink beer are hot. Better yet: chicks who drink beer and watch the game. Better still: chicks who buy us a beer during the game.

What He Wishes You Knew #32

We don't mind being told we look good. Just don't call it a "cute outfit."

What He Wishes You Knew #33

We love ponytails.

What He Wishes You Knew #34

Being good in bed means a) enthusiasm; b) a sense of humor; and sometimes c) patience.

What He Wishes You Knew #35

The first time? We're as nervous as you are.

What He Wishes You Knew #36

A random unexpected grope is always welcome, even in public. Especially in public.

What He Wishes You Knew #37

Make us laugh and we'll want to hang around.

What He Wishes You Knew #38

Yes, I laugh really loud around the guys. And I always will, so deal.

What He Wishes You Knew #39

Sure, men stereotypically like to solve a woman's problems. But a woman who solves her own while we watch? Instant erection.

What He Wishes You Knew #40

You can pick the movie, but have a reason.

What He Wishes You Knew #41

Do not expect to have a conversation via text message unless you use the words "naked" and "waiting."

What He Wishes You Knew #42

Sometimes we wonder why any woman would want to be with us, much less someone as amazing as you. So, thanks.

What He Wishes You Knew #43

Anytime you cook for us, we're happy.

What He Wishes You Knew #44

If you can hit a golf ball 150 yards, we just might fall in love.

What He Wishes You Knew #45

No, I don't remember what he said next. Or she. Or anybody, for that matter. I'm a guy, not a tape recorder.

What He Wishes You Knew #46

We love you even more because you know we need to go out with the guys once in a while.

What He Wishes You Knew #47

And we love it when you hang with us guys, too.

What He Wishes You Knew #48

We have a keen sense of imminent danger. It sounds like, "Do you think she's pretty?"

What He Wishes You Knew #49

Don't rely on us for keeping you up on the news.

What He Wishes You Knew #50

Never say, "I know you better than you know yourself." Nobody does.

Hope you liked it =)

Price Tag

So recently I came across this sweet little girl, Maddi Jane, who has a beautiful "Mraz" like effect in her songs.
Judge for yourself. Love the Lyrics too :)

Seems like everybody’s got a price,
I wonder how they sleep at night.
When the tale comes first,
And the truth comes second,
Just stop, for a minute and
Smile

Why is everybody so serious!
Acting so damn mysterious
You got your shades on your eyes
And your heels so high
That you can’t even have a good time.

Everybody look to their left (yeah)
Everybody look to their right (ha)
Can you feel that (yeah)
Well pay them with love tonight

It’s not about the money, money, money
We don’t need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag

Ain’t about the (ha) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag.

We need to take it back in time,
When music made us all UNITE!
And it wasn’t low blows and video Hoes,
Am I the only one gettin tired?

Why is everybody so obsessed?
Money can’t buy us happiness
Can we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we’ll be feelin
All right.

Everybody look to their left (yeah)
Everybody look to their right (ha)
Can you feel that (yeah)
Well pay them with love tonight

Yeah yeah
Well, keep the price tag
And take the cash back
Just give me six streams and a half stack
And you can keep the cars
Leave me the garage
And all I..
Yes all I need are keys and garage
And guess what, in 30 seconds I’m leaving to Mars
Yes we leaving across these undefeatable odds
Its like this man, you can’t put a price on life
We do this for the love so we fight and sacrifice everynight
So we aint gon stumble and fall never
Waiting to see, a sign of defeat uh uh
So we gon keep everyone moving there feet
So bring back the beat and everybody sing
It’s not about

Yeah yeah
Oo-oooh
Forget about the price tag..

On A Good Day

Little bit lost and...
Little bit lonely
A little bit cold here
A little bit feared

But I, hold on
And I
Feel strong, and I
Know that I can

Getting used to it
Lit the fuse to it
Like to know who I am

Been talking to myself forever...yeah
And how I wish I knew me better, yeah
Still sitting on the shelf but never
Never seen the sun shine brighter
And it feels like me, on a good day

I'm a little bit hemmed in
Little bit isolated
A little bit hopeful
A little calm

But I, hold on
And I
Feel strong, and I
Know that I can

Getting used to it
Lit the fuse to it
Like to know who I am

Been talking to myself forever...yeah
And how I wish I knew me better, yeah
Still sitting on the shelf but never
Never seen the sun the shine brighter
And it feels like me, on a good day

Life is Beautiful =)

Today, the 18th of Feb,2011 just needed that special mention.

From being woken up at 4am to talk to and give company to the girlfriend and stay awake with her for an hour while she puked and drank hot water...to attending a fun food production practical where I learnt to make jalebis ( an Indian sweet delicacy ) which when devoured when hot n crispy are the best ! From sleeping in class after a perfect lunch cooked by my friends and I during our practical where everything went right and everything tasted just as it should have...to meeting the Principal of my college with my DAD because I hadn't attended college enough and was bunking a lot and when we met her..she was the sweetest most awesome Principal ever man..#on a side note when I'd first met her when I started college I knew she was going to be awesome at what she did and just be damn chilled out.# moving on..so she tells my dad that I'm a good student and one of the brightest in class and that she did not wanna waste my dad's time coz there was nothing to complain about my bunking lectures coz I pretty much topped my class and all that jazz..hehe :) I wanted to hug her man..so much love I felt =) anyways moving on..I went to the girlfriend for whom I took the jalebis I had made at class. Her mum loved it and gave me some kinda heavenly blessing for getting the sick girlfriend some food :) hehe..From then working at a Broadway play Luv by Murray Schisgal that was adapted by Sandhya Divecha who calls her version " Love on the Brink "..I was selling wines to the audience at the bar.It was a fun experience..surrounded by the Page 3 crowd and a fun play while making money and watching it for free =D I LOVE Freebies !! anyways I then decided to have some roadside seekh kebabs and chicken biryani and end it with an ice cream..Just felt like noting this day down..for its happiness and its eventfulness :)
also i checked my weight today..i lost 4 kgs in 2 weeks :)
